Soil and Water Management

Over 47 million acres in Kansas are controlled or used by Agriculture, with cropland totaling 30 million acres. Sound Soil and Water Management involves making decisions that will maximize long-term productivity and profitability while protecting and preserving our soil and water resources. This requires considering issues such as tillage, residue management, irrigation, soil quality, soil erosion, water quality and quantity, and cropping systems.
